Purpose
FORFIRM Consulting SA is committed to fostering a culture based on equality, diversity, inclusion and mutual respect. The purpose of this policy is to: • ensure fair and equal treatment of all employees; • promote a workplace where individual differences are recognised, respected and valued; • prevent unlawful discrimination, harassment, bullying and victimisation; • ensure that employment decisions are based on skills, experience, performance and business requirements; • support an inclusive working environment where all employees can contribute and develop their potential. Applicability
This policy applies to all FORFIRM Consulting SA employees at all levels of the organisation, including managers and senior management. The principles of this policy apply throughout the employee lifecycle, including: • recruitment and selection; • employment conditions; • compensation and benefits; • training and development; • promotion and career opportunities; • performance management; • disciplinary and grievance processes; • termination of employment. Where applicable, the principles of this policy may also be extended to temporary workers, contractors, consultants, customers, suppliers and other third parties interacting with FORFIRM Consulting SA. This policy should be read in conjunction with: • • Bullying and Harassment Policy; • Disciplinary Policy; • Grievance Policy; • Health & Safety Policy.
Definitions
Equality Ensuring that all individuals have fair access to opportunities and are treated fairly, while recognising different needs and circumstances. Diversity The recognition and appreciation of individual differences, including but not limited to age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, disability, religion, sexual orientation, cultural background, language, experience and personal characteristics. Inclusion Creating a working environment where employees feel respected, valued and able to contribute fully. Discrimination Unfair or unequal treatment of an individual or group based on protected characteristics or personal circumstances. Harassment Any unwanted behaviour that violates a person’s dignity or creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading or offensive environment. Victimisation Unfair treatment of an individual because they have raised a concern, supported a complaint or participated in an investigation relating to discrimination or harassment.
Role and Responsibilities
• Employees are responsible for treating colleagues, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders with dignity, respect and professionalism. • Line Managers are responsible for promoting an inclusive workplace, addressing inappropriate behaviour promptly and ensuring fair treatment of employees. • Human Resources (HR) is responsible for supporting employees and managers, providing guidance, monitoring application of this policy and ensuring consistency in handling concerns. • Management is responsible for promoting equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the organisation and ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements. All concerns, complaints and investigations relating to discrimination, harassment or inappropriate behaviour must be managed confidentially and handled only by authorised personnel.
Standard of Conduct
FORFIRM Consulting SA expects all employees to: • treat colleagues, customers, suppliers and visitors with respect and professionalism; • value individual differences and contribute to an inclusive working environment; • communicate appropriately and avoid behaviour that may cause offence, intimidation or exclusion; • support equal opportunities and fair treatment; • report any behaviour that may breach this policy. Employees must not: • discriminate against others based on personal characteristics or protected conditions; • engage in bullying, harassment, intimidation or victimisation; • make offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate comments, whether verbally, in writing or through digital communication channels; • exclude or disadvantage colleagues unfairly in relation to employment opportunities or workplace activities.

Any employee who experiences or witnesses inappropriate behaviour should raise the concern through the appropriate channels. Reporting Concerns Employees are encouraged to report concerns at an early stage. Concerns may be raised with: • the employee’s line manager; • Human Resources; • another appropriate member of management where necessary. All reports will be handled seriously, fairly and confidentially. FORFIRM Consulting SA will assess each case individually and take appropriate action where breaches of this policy are identified. Training, Monitoring and Continuous Improvement FORFIRM Consulting SA will promote awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion principles through appropriate communication and training activities. The organisation will periodically review employment practices and procedures to ensure they remain fair, effective and compliant with applicable legislation. FORFIRM Consulting SA may monitor relevant workforce information, where legally permitted, to assess the effectiveness of this policy and identify opportunities for improvement. Breaches of this Policy Any employee who breaches this policy may be subject to disciplinary action. Serious cases of discrimination, harassment, bullying or victimisation may be considered misconduct or gross misconduct and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
